About the Artist:

Both during and after a career in newspaper advertising, Helen collected railroad china used on the dining cars, which led to collecting pieces from restaurants and hotels. She was always drawn to broken china jewelry and admired the beauty and history of each piece.

She started taking silversmith classes, focusing on broken china. Most jewelry is made from fine china, but Helen’s is mostly strictly commercial grade, so it’s thicker and more challenging to create pieces.

If Helen sees an interesting pattern on a type of china, she is sure to create something from it.
